Y’all know I love a good pattern mixed outfit! For a casual day outfit to a fun night out to KCFW! I know there’s a ton of fun ways to do it! When I found this floral maxi skirt from Anthropologie, I knew it would be so great to wear with a classic white top, but wanted to try it with something different. A stripe top! Florals and stripes are patterns I love to pair together! Well, as long as one gets to be the star over the other! And I think in this outfit’s case the top stands out more, as the mustard and cream blend together nicely compared to the contrasting stripes of my top. Do you see it!? I hope you can! So, you can do this within your own closet too!

On that note of shopping your own closet, the top that I am wearing is actually A DRESS!! Can you believe it!? I tried on the skirt at home and knew I wanted a stripe top! So, I tried it on with a few options that just weren’t right. They were either too casual or to high maintenance. Then, I started to just look at my dresses, well, the tops of my dresses to see if anything would work well with the look I was going for! And then it hit me, this stripe dress from last summer would be perfect! Now, as long as it would fit and lay nicely under the skirt without being noticeable! And it WORKED!! I was so relieved and pumped! I love when something this ridiculous comes together!

Now, I want you all to try pattern mixing too! And these are my favorite pieces to wear with stripe tops and dresses! Have fun shopping the links below and creating looks that make you feel like you, and have fun with it!
