Well that went fast y'all! So excited and nervous and shocked that our third trimester is here. This whole pregnancy thing has been a very good and beautiful experience. It's been amazing to see how much closer Kevin (the Mr.) and I have grown. I love how our conversations have softened and how they are focused on something so much more important than ourselves. I've literally just been in awe of it all. I wanted to catch you guys up on this whole journey since I haven't really talked about it too much over here.

FIRST TRIMESTER:

We found out we were pregnant in early February and didn't tell our parents until early March. Why did we wait so long? Because we had absolutely NO IDEA what we doing, and we felt like we couldn't ask for advice on it, well I didn't, because hello, SO obvious! It would out us. Looking back it was really fun having such an exciting secret just between us. But it was insanely hard to find mocktails that looked like a real drink I would have normally drank. For you white wine lovers, white grape juice served in a wine glass (thanks Blanc Burger), was genius.

As for how I felt during that time I felt nauseous a little pretty frequently, especially if I didn't eat something EVERY 2 HOURS! I would get serious hunger pains and then feel nauseous, it was so frustrating! I only got sick, sick once! Hallelujah! I can't imagine getting sick all the time. For you mamas that make it through that are true warriors! Oh and I was SUPER TIRED, like if I was driving around 3:30pm, I felt like I could seriously pass out while driving. It was nuts. So I napped a lot and just went to bed as early as I could.

As for what I wore. Kev and I went a little nuts when my Dad and Step-Mom were in KC and raided Gap's maternity sale. I tried on the bump with everything and it was hysterical! I grabbed a few dresses, black pants, jeans, and a couple tops. I feel like we jumped the gun on this one as there's pieces I haven't worn yet, and probably won't. But, I'll share more on that later. A word to the wise, buy maternity pants. I couldn't comfortably fit in my regular jeans around 8 - 10 weeks.

SECOND TRIMESTER:

I finally felt like a completely normal person. It was amazing!! I had my energy back, didn't feel nauseous at all. Didn't really have any weird cravings. I bet Kevin would disagree. But, can I just tell you how he's magically stayed ahead of the cravings I have had. Like we were wrapping up with dinner at home and I could literally taste brownies in my mouth, it was so crazy. So I told him and he made up an excuse to go to the store, and when he came home I heard him mixing something up in the kitchen. I then realized just as soon as he set the timer on the oven, that he had snuck out to get brownies for me.  He's got this whole pregnancy craving feeding thing down!

So around 20 weeks I finally popped! Then it was super fun to wear my maternity outfits because there was something there to actually show off! I definitely wore dresses about 80% of the time. But definitely busted out the maternity ruched tops with maternity bottoms.  My basic white tank has been worn out! I love wearing it to cover all the maternity bands on all my pants. Why do the bands have to be a nude color? I sure would love it if the bands were actually close to the colors of the garments, just sayin'. Does anyone else feel like this?

THIRD TRIMESTER:

And we're here, with a huge belly, swollen feet, and the constant need for some concealer and lipstick. I am 100% in stretchy bottoms - the stretchier the better. As for dresses I can't get enough of super fitted and super stretchy dresses with blazers and vests, and empire waist styled dresses too. I'm down to about 4-5 pair of shoes that I can actually wear comfortably all day. So, if you're a size 9, hit me up, I've got some shoes for you!

I'm starting to get super hungry way more frequently now. But, not nearly as ridiculous as the first trimester, thank goodness, but definitely just as frequent. Oh, and I am obsessing over chocolate everything. Like chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and Twix have been my jam thus far. But other than that everything is same old same old.

Oh, and the nursery is realllllllly coming together! We've got the walls painted, big pieces of furniture placed, bookshelves hung. Now I just need to find / search for all the things we want for the walls. I'm just trying to keep it cool and not too cheesy, ya know what I mean?

It's been an amazing experience and I am so excited to finish out healthy and strong. I just can't wait to hold him and kiss him!

xo,
